It seems to me right off the bat, that blog reading is different than other types of reading because it encourages direct interaction. That being said, blog writing is also different for the same reason. When writing a novel, it is rare to have such immediate feedback from your readers. I think this is a positive influence on the writers. It encourages them to be extra engaging, and alter their writing style based on the feedback they receive from people all over the globe.

Innovation day sounds similar to something done recently at Poughkeepsie Day School.
Patrick’s 5th grade blog is a brilliant idea to get kids reading and writing. I think kids should blog back and forth all the time. I certainly learned how to type from AOL instant messenger, and this seems similar, yet more academic.
